When do you know it's time to garden?

There are a few signs here for me, although since I live in the NE we generally wait until after May Day. I have an indoor kitchen garden (so that doesn't count LOL).

When my dad's rhododendrons show signs of leaves, it's a good step forward. And, of course, early blossoming flowers. Also geese.... did I mention very LOUD geese?

It all depends on the weather here in the UK.

Sometimes its very early in the year, like February March. Then it can be as late as April ~ May.

We can have heavy snow or bright spring weather in mid February any year.
